Richard Duval of Mead, OK.

Richard is a self-taught woodturner who began turning in 2000. Using books and videos he taught himself the basics. Thereafter attending club meetings and seminars, he expanded his knowledge of turning by observing demonstrations by other turners. His interests are varied, preferring to always be trying out new types of turning and techniques. For the last five years he has participated as an instructor and demonstrator at the Forrest Heritage Center's "Turning with the Masters" beginning wood turning classes at Broken Bow Oklahoma and at Idabel Oklahoma. In 2008 he entered the "Turning with the Masters" competition and placed second. He shows his work at Images Gallery of Fine Art in Denison Texas and at woodcarving shows in Texas and Oklahoma. He is a member of AAW, Dallas Area Woodturners, Texoma Woodturners and Southeastern Oklahoma Woodturners.
