Susan displayed the beautiful pens she made. Richard Coker made a goblet out of pear with a walnut lid. Michael Boyle made a bowl from glued-up white oak with dowel inserts. John Struckmeyer made an offset turning from ash and elm. It was hollowed through the bottom. Ed Haluska made an elm bowling bowl stand. Bill Kirk made this piece from the 60-year-old root ball of a Japanese yew. Barry Fromberg made this piece from resin and maple burl. He poured the resin into a pressure pot and added gold flakes. Alain Schwartz made this two-part piece. He calls it his ‘oops’ bowl.
Meeting Highlights
Kevin Bassett kicked off the meeting. Charlie Tucker talked about the raffle prizes as well as SWAT. Judge John Roach talked about the North Texas Veterans Court Program. John Holderman gave a demo about making candlestick holders.
