The Dallas Area Woodturners (DAW) was organized in 1996. Our mission is to promote woodturning to all levels of competence and experience, including beginners and advanced professionals; to provide up-to-date information, education and guidance for all members; to stimulate creativity and to explore new methods and techniques for advancing woodturning as both a creative craft and as a unique art form.
The club focuses on helping novices learn and grow by sharing information and techniques with one another. The DAW is active in community service through woodturning including support for Beads of Courage and The North Texas Food Bank’s Empty Bowls Fundraiser.
The club meets at 7 p.m. on the third Thursday evening of each month (except December) at WoodWorld at TI Blvd and Sherman in Dallas, Texas (13650 TI Blvd, Suite #101, Dallas, TX, 75243). Club meetings include demonstrations by well-known national, international and local woodturners.
