The Dallas Area Woodturners (DAW) was organized in 1996 and has grown to over 200 members.

Our mission is to promote woodturning to all levels of competence and experience, including beginners and advanced professionals; to provide up to date information, education and guidance for all members; to stimulate creativity and to explore new methods and techniques for advancing woodturning as both a creative craft and as a unique art form.

The club focuses on helping novices learn and grow by sharing information and techniques with one other. The DAW is active in community service through woodturning including support for Beads of Courage and The North Texas Food Bank’s Empty Bowls Fundraiser.
