DAW Member Class – Molly Winton Day 2 – Pyrography: Effective Use of Home-Made Brands and Commercial Pyrography Pens
March 21 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
You will learn how to make your own brands to use with your wood burning tools, how to use the common brands that may come with your wood burning kit. You will also learn about power carving tools and their usage, designs, patterns and strategies for embellishing your pieces with both pyrography and carving.
Pyrography is growing in popularity as a technique to enhance woodturned art. Many different pyrography systems are available on the market today, with a wide variety of commercial pens and tips from which to choose. Many of these will be reviewed and discussed. While there are numerous pyrography pens/tips available on the commercial market, making unique, one-of-a-kind brands can provide individualized styles of texturing and design that cannot be achieved through the use of commercially made pens. This demonstration will review commercially made products as well as show how brands are made using various materials, and their application on turned vessels. Effective use of pens/tips, and techniques to achieve clean, crisp lines; and layout and design tips will also be covered.
The cost is $150.00 per person. To save your slot for this class follow the link to pay and reserve your place. Look forward to seeing you there…
