German ring turning is called Reifendrehen in Germany. It is the technique of turning a donut shaped ring or torus, whose profile, when cut in half, displays unique shapes or figures.

Bio: Simon is a young Australian woodworker from Sydney, Australia. While completing his cabinetmaking apprenticeship, Simon spent most of his time in his shed making pieces for customers and competitions, regularly winning awards at agricultural shows. After a trip to Turnfest 2016, Simon realized that his hobby could be a career that is worth pursuing, so he began to chase his dream job. 2 years later he got an opportunity to teach at the Turnfest clinic and in 2019 he was one of the headline demonstrators. Simon was also be a judge for the Australian Wood Turning Exhibition which shows how quickly he is gaining respect in the Industry.
